For those who have traversed the rough terrain of complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), we know that familiar sinking feeling all too well. The heavy dread that another sleepless night of terror awaits. The emptiness and detachment that creep in even during moments that should spark joy. The crushing self-doubt and sense of being fundamentally “other” from those around us who haven’t endured what we have.
CPTSD resulting from repetitive, inescapable trauma can shatter our core senses of self, safety and trust in a way the civilian world can’t quite comprehend. My own experience being held hostage by hypervigilance, emotional flashbacks and somatic disconnection after years of high-stress crisis response is what birthed my passion for helping others reclaim their resilience.
From the depths of that psychological hell, I know the pain of feeling irreparably damaged and alone of desperately searching for a light to guide the way back to grounded presence and reconnection. The traditional therapy approaches fell short – they couldn’t attune to the compounded anguish of the moral injuries, grief, anger and identity splintering that had become my inescapable inner prison.
I became trained in speciality modalities like EMDR, somatic therapy and hypnosis. These powerful mind-body methods allowed me to finally reprocess and release some of the most intractable traumatic material that had me stuck for years. As I learned to tend to my most fragmented and dysregulated parts with curiosity instead of judgement, true post-traumatic growth became possible.
Now, as a CPTSD therapist and guide, it’s my calling to pass the hard-won torch of healing to those still caught in trauma’s disorienting grip. From our first interaction, I aim to establish a sense of safety and non-judgement that may feel unfamiliar after guarding your vulnerability for so long. You don’t have to waste energy explaining or rationalising CPTSD’s impacts to me – I’m intimately acquainted with the territory we’ll be exploring together.
Carefully titrated to your window of tolerance, we’ll gently begin unpacking and reprocessing the stuck traumatic imagery, negative core beliefs and attachment woundings using an integrative mind-body approach. Somatic tools, hypnotherapy and energy psychology can rework those neural patterns of dysregulation. You’ll reconnect with your inherent resources for post-traumatic mastery.
My role is to hold a sacred space of unconditional compassion for your anger, grief or shame to fully express yourself free of criticism. Tending to fragmented parts of self with courage and care, not bypassing. It’s the start of reclaiming an integrated life of wholeness and meaning.
The CPTSD recovery journey is rarely linear, but you have a steadfast guide who has traversed those shadowy valleys and emerged more resilient on the other side.
